«Enjoy and dream – high above Lake Walensee»

Just spectacular! From the Obertoggenburg through Liechtenstein and deep into the Glarnerland region – the south of eastern Switzerland will you it's most beautiful sides. 

Wattwil

By train you continue your journey from Wattwil through the idyllic Toggenburg landscape to Nesslau. A sidetrip to the Toggenburg World of Experience is a must for friends fo play- and hobby electric railways, oldtimers, dolls as well as nativity scenes.

Nesslau

Once you reach Nesslau, the journey leads you through the upper Toggenburg on to Buchs. The Sound Forge Toggenburg in Alt St. Johann is a worthwile stopover. You can discover the forging of bells, rolls and other resonating bodies from near – you can even make you own bell if you like!

Located in Unterwasser is the Hotel Sternen – an ideal Base Camp for sports enthusiasts, families and gourmets.

Wildhaus

If you'd like to spend some more time in Wildhaus, the Hotel Hirschen Wildhaus offers the perfect accomodation. The Wildhaus-Oberdorf-Gamsalp Chairlift will take you to a hiking paradise with unique views – an experience for outdoor lovers of all ages. From Wildhaus the journey continues by postal bus down to Buchs.

Buchs

At your arrival, Buchs offers several interesting excursions. For the ones who like to deal with healthy walking and standing instead of sitting, the World of walk-on-air in Sennwald offers a worhwile detour.

The Liechtenstein National Museum in Vaduz offers interesting facts about the history, culture and nature of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Captivating and interactive exhibits make the visit plenty of fun for the whole family.

The journey continues by train via Sargans in the direction of Ziegelbrücke. 

The Pizol tracks Bad Ragaz – Wangs are easily to be reached from Sargans. Modern gondolas lead up into the unique naturescape around the summit of the Pizol.  Moderne Gondelbahnen führen hinauf in die einzigartige Naturlandschaft rund um den Pizol. The view over Lake Constance is just breathtaking.

Amden

Where the Linth comes from the Lake Walensee lies the small town of Weesen. This small medieval town which was inhabited by prosperous citizen and has burnt down in 1388 is very well documented with many artifacts by the local Museum and Gallery Weesen.

The collection of the foundation «Weesen & Walensee - Claudio Flütsch» with its wild and romantic landscape paintings is also well worth a visit. 

On the sunny plateau of Amden, high above the Lake Walensee and amid the greenery you can find the Hotel Arvenbüel surrounded by wonderful mountains. Hiking trails and skiing pistes are located in the immediate vicinity. 

The Chair Lift Amden will leisurely carry you from the village of Amden in direction of the Mattstockfuss in the middle of the magnificent hiking area. The summit station at Walau is the starting point for the popular hike to the summit of the mountain Speer, the rigdgeway of Amden as well as the ridgeway Hasenboden. The chairlift is also popular with rock climbers as well as paragliders.

By postal bus and train your journey will lead you from Amden back to Wattwil.
